The first haircut with another barber did not go so well with the ears being nipped at and hair being pulled around in a fit of rage, but after that trip to Mikel, Quincy has been a regular ever since. Mikel and Denise's life long hobby has been renovating and fixing up houses of all kinds, to a better than new condition, and helped both Kay and Quincy fix up their new house in Cedar Hill Texas which is now referred to as the "Hill Country of the Metroplex."

Kay is a graduate of Tarrant County College, with an Associate in Liberal Arts, and she graduated from Duncanville High School in 1994. She also attended Iredell (near Stephenville) before moving back to Duncanville during her early high school days. She even attended Lancaster Schools during her early elementary years, as she has many friends to this day from all the schools she attended. She also attended Angelo State University, at which she became a member of Sigma Kappa.

Currently Kay is employed with the SBC Corporation, formerly known as Southwestern Bell, as a customer service sales representative. She has been with the company for three years, and has made many friends there as well, several that will be in her wedding party.

Kay family is spread out throughout the United States, although a majority of her family is located in Texas. Her grandmother Norene McFann who will be attending will be coming from Florida, along with her husband Les. Her grandfather who is originally from Michigan now residing in Granbury, William Francis Hillary III, along with his wife Joyce will be attending as well. Her paternal grandparents Alex and Leona Chamblee have departed, although it is said by her father that Kay has a very close resemblance of her grandmother Leona in many ways.
